The news yesterday and today in Sweden is that a woman, Annika Östberg Deasy, is about to be transferred from US prisons to Sweden. Personally, I’m a bit shocked that everyone seems so happy about it. This is a woman who has been convicted for her part in two murders, of which one was of a Police Officer. There’s some sort naivety in all this, just because she’s Swedish can’t be as bad as they say, which sickens me.
She’s been in jail for 28 years, but in total there’s been 40 years since she was in Sweden. She can hardly call this home anymore and she only wants to come here to finally get out of jail, not because it’s home.
No, the US can keep her. As the daughters of the Police Officer said, when Annika complained that she had only spoken to her mother three times during her years in prison – how often have they talked to their father in the last 28 years?

I agree completely. My tax dollars should go to education, infrastructure, and creating jobs. Not to helping some murderer who wants an easy retirement.
